Middle School Events

April 15th-30th: State Testing for 6th, 7th & 8th grades

April 19th: No Classes

April 24th: 8th Grade HIV/AIDS Presentation

The HIV/AIDS Presentation is required by the State Department of Education.  Parents will have the option to allow or not allow their child to be present for this presentation.  Permission slips will be sent home soon.  Meeker school nurse, Chelsea Robinson (RN,BSN), will present the slideshow on April 24th.  To review the material that will be presented, please click on the link here: HIV/AIDS Slideshow

May 7th: Awards Assembly @ 2:00 pm – Auditorium 

May 10th: Class Trips

District Parent Survey

Elementary, middle school, and high school parents are invited take part in an annual survey related to the Title I Schoolwide programs that focus on reading at each site in the district.  Simply copy/paste the link below to complete the family/community portion of the survey by April 18.  Your input and support are greatly appreciated.

6th Grade Life Skills

Meeker Middle School 6th grade students will be attending a once a month life skills program beginning February 5, 2019.  This program will be led by Joani Webster and Youth & Family Resource Center.  Students will meet with Joani Webster during their World History class during 1st or 3rd hours.  The main emphasis of the program is on the development of important personal and social skills.

Students will learn about:

  • Short and long-term consequences of substance abuse
  • Decision making: Developing critical thinking and responsible decision making
  • Techniques for coping with anxiety
  • General social skills and assertiveness techniques which can be used to resist peer pressure
  • Self-improvement techniques for changing specific personal skills or goals
