MORE SCHOLARSHIPS!!!  Fill out your FAFSA ASAP!!!!

Start applying to colleges of choice. You have 2 excused College visit days. Bring back proof of visit. Consider at least three colleges to attend consider cost, programs, quality and scholarships.

  • **FAFSA  is available in October. All that are planning to go to college must fill this out. Colleges use this to determine scholarships and more. IT is FREE. FAFSA.gov   Both Parents and Students need ID numbers.  More information was placed on your Google classroom.
  • College scholarship deadlines are coming up: Honors and PLC’s generally Feb. 1st
  • General Freshmen scholarships generally March 1st: Check your college website for your deadlines.
  • I will have a sheet for you to write down the colleges, vo-techs, military branch you need your final transcript sent to. Please put down all possible choices.

Athletes :

If attending a 4 year University to play sports, you need to register online at NCAAeligibility.org

If attending a 2 year NAIA Community College for sports register at https://play.mynaia.org/

USNA Summer STEM is designed to spark and cultivate interest in the many academic disciplines which make up science, technology, engineering and mathematics. A hands-on, design-based program, Naval Academy Summer STEM will challenge students to think scientifically, problem-solve creatively, and work cooperatively in teams. Open to rising 9th, 10th and 11th graders, summerstem@usna.edu

GCTC is not going to be here due to Covid concerns so you need to go to www.gctech.edu to register for the field you are interested in.

You are to take the career and college interest surveys, do written graduation ie. College or votech, military or job and workforce goals and progress toward these goals. Create an intentional sequence of courses that reflect progress toward the goal. Do these every year!

Start working on community service hours and leadership opportunities. These need to be ongoing activities.

Vegetarian Resource Group Scholarships

Scholarship Value: $10,000 Awards Available: 3 Award Deadline: February 20, 2021

 

Due to the generosity of an anonymous donor, The Vegetarian Resource Group each year will award $20,000 in college scholarship money to graduating U.S. high school students who have promoted vegetarianism in their schools and/or communities. Vegetarians do not eat meat, fish, or fowl. Vegans are vegetarians who do not use other animal products such as dairy or eggs. One award of $10,000 and two awards of $5,000 will be given. Entries may only be sent by students graduating from high school in SPRING 2021. Deadline is FEBRUARY 20, 2021. We will accept applications postmarked on or before FEBRUARY 20, 2021. Early submission is encouraged. We had 280 applications in 2019. Applicants will be judged on having shown compassion, courage, and a strong commitment to promoting a peaceful world through a vegetarian diet/lifestyle. Payment will be made to the student's college (U.S. based only). Winners of the scholarships give permission to release their names to the media. Applications and essays become property of The Vegetarian Resource Group. We may ask finalists for more information. Scholarship winners are contacted by e-mail or telephone. Please look at your e-mail.

 

 

CCOSA is pleased to partner with Oklahoma School Assurance Group (OSAG) for a new student scholarship opportunity. This new scholarship is for senior students whose parents/guardians are employees of OSAG member districts.

Criteria:

Senior student whose parent/guardian is an employee of an OSAG member district

  • Senior students will be eligible to receive only one scholarship from CCOSA and OSAG scholarship opportunities.

The timelines for submission are:

December 1, 2020 – Applications available below and on the CCOSA website.

  • March 1, 2021 – Deadline for submitting scholarship applications
  • May (1st Week), 2021 – Notification of winners
  • June (2nd Week), 2021 – Student winners recognized at CCOSA Summer Leadership Conference
