Start applying to colleges of choice. You have 2 excused College visit days. Bring back proof of visit. Consider at least three colleges to attend consider cost, programs, quality and scholarships.

  • FAFSA  is available in October. All that are planning to go to college must fill this out. Colleges use this to determine scholarships and more. IT is FREE. FAFSA.gov   Both Parents and Students need ID numbers.  More information was placed on your Google classroom.

Athletes :

If attending a 4 year University to play sports, you need to register online at NCAAeligibility.org

If attending a 2 year NAIA Community College for sports register at https://play.mynaia.org/

Seniors, Junior, Sophomores:

Go to ACT.org to set up an account: Feb 6th ACT sign up by Jan. 8  / March 12th sign up for April 17th test

Sophomores:

GCTC center will be coming to campus late January because of COVID. More when they set their date for Meeker HS.

*Start Career planning now: okcollegestart.org   Check out this website.  State Dept. of Educ. Requirement for graduation starting with 2019-2020 Freshmen– Use your school email as user name. All students: Virtual, Blended, Alternative and Attending are required to complete these surveys and educational plans each year to graduate.

Start working on community service hours and leadership opportunities. These need to be ongoing activities.

CCOSA is pleased to partner with Oklahoma School Assurance Group (OSAG) for a new student scholarship opportunity. This new scholarship is for senior students whose parents/guardians are employees of OSAG member districts.

Criteria:

Senior student whose parent/guardian is an employee of an OSAG member district

  • Senior students will be eligible to receive only one scholarship from CCOSA and OSAG scholarship opportunities.

The timelines for submission are:

December 1, 2020 – Applications available below and on the CCOSA website.

  • March 1, 2021 – Deadline for submitting scholarship applications
  • May (1st Week), 2021 – Notification of winners
  • June (2nd Week), 2021 – Student winners recognized at CCOSA Summer Leadership Conference
