Parents, Staff, and School Community,
It is with great sadness that we share the news of the death of one of our students. We extend our deepest condolences to the student’s family, friends, classmates, teachers, and everyone who knew and cared for him.
Out of respect for the family’s privacy, the district will not be sharing additional details about the circumstances of the student’s death. We ask our school community to extend that same privacy and compassion to the family during this difficult time.
We recognize that this news may be upsetting and that students and adults may respond in different ways. Our school has made counseling and support services available to students and staff who may need assistance. Parents and guardians are encouraged to check in with their children, listen to concerns, and remind them that it is okay to ask for help.
If your child is struggling emotionally or you have concerns about his/her well-being, please contact high school counselor, Candice Gatz. Additional counseling and resources are also available.
We will continue to support our students and staff while respecting the needs and wishes of the student’s family. Please rely on official school communications for updates and avoid sharing unverified information or speculation.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and with all members of our school community affected by this loss. We will continue to care for one another and provide support during this difficult time.
Respectfully,
Jeff Pruitt
Superintendent
