MEEKER HIGH SCHOOL
SPRING 2020
Meeker Public schools are following guidelines to ensure safety of all. The situation surrounding COVID-19 is fluid and adjustments may need to be made. During each phase each person, each day of attendance in each activity must complete a COVID-19 Screening form. Vulnerable individuals should not oversee or participate in any workouts during any phase. All workouts are voluntary and athletes will not be negatively impacted for non-participation.
PHASE ONE—JUNE 8, 2020 THROUGH JUNE 26, 2020
On June 8, 2020 coaches may have face-to-face contact with secondary level students using the provisions provided below. No team practice is permitted. No camps, clinics, or leagues may be conducted. Strength and conditioning is permitted.
WEIGHT ROOM
Each person entering the facility must have their temperature checked upon arrival. Any individual with a temperature registering 100.4 degrees or above must not be permitted to stay
Hands must be washed or hand sanitizer used prior to entering the facility and touching any equipment.
Locker rooms and/or restrooms if opened must be sanitized before use and at the conclusion of the workout.
2 people maximum on any one piece of equipment.
Spotters must wear a mask or cloth face covering. Athletes must provide their own mask or bandana.
Social distancing requirements must be followed; the total number allowed in a weight room must comply with social distancing requirements (exception: a spotter should be permitted to safely spot).
Any equipment used including weights, balls, bats, helmets, etc. must be disinfected appropriately with use.
No shared hydrating bottles, towels, gloves, or any other personal equipment is permitted. Athletes are strongly encouraged to bring their own drinks.
Coaches or other supervisory adults must wear a mask or cloth face covering.
GYM/INDOOR FACILITY
Each person entering the facility must have their temperature checked upon arrival. Any individual with a temperature registering 100.4 degrees or above must not be permitted to stay
Hands must be washed or hand sanitizer used prior to entering the facility and before beginning any drills or handling of equipment.
Locker rooms and/or restrooms if opened must be sanitized before use and at the conclusion of the workout.
Social distancing guidelines must be followed.
No shared hydrating bottles, towels, gloves, or any other personal equipment is permitted. Athletes are strongly encouraged to bring their own drinks.
Any equipment used to include weights, balls, bats, helmets, etc. must be disinfected appropriately with use - No scrimmaging or one-on-one - Coaches or other supervisory adults must wear a mask or cloth face covering.
OUTDOORS
Each person entering the facility must have their temperature checked upon arrival. Any individual with a temperature registering 100.4 degrees or above must not be permitted to stay
Hands must be washed or hand sanitizer used prior to handling of equipment.
Locker rooms and/or restrooms if opened must be sanitized before use and at the conclusion of the workout.
Social distancing guidelines must be followed.
No shared helmets or equipment worn on the head including facemasks –
No shared hydrating bottles, towels, gloves, or any other personal equipment is permitted. Athletes are strongly encouraged to bring their own drinks.
Any equipment used including balls, bats, helmets, etc. must be disinfected appropriately with use.
Coaches or other supervisory adults must wear a mask or cloth face covering.
PHASE TWO—JULY 6, 2020 THROUGH JULY 15, 2020
No team practice is permitted. No camps, clinics, or leagues may be conducted. Strength and conditioning is permitted.
Social distancing guidelines must be followed.
Hands must be washed or hand sanitizer used prior to the use of any equipment.
Any equipment used including weights, balls, bats, helmets, etc. must be disinfected appropriately with use.
Tryouts are permitted (must follow OSSAA Policy for tryouts).
No shared hydrating bottles, towels, gloves, or any other personal equipment is permitted.
JULY 15, 2020
Practice may begin for fast-pitch softball, cross country.

The Meeker Elementary Enrollment date for the 2020-2021 school year will be July 27-July 30.
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday will be 9am-2pm. Tuesday will be 1pm- 6pm.
*** Nobody will be allowed to take a packet home and fill it out. You will need to fill it out at the school OR print it off the website and bring it with you.

The 2020-2021 school calendar can be located on the website and app by clicking EXPLORE, then DOCUMENTS, then CALENDAR.
HS graduation will be Thursday - June 4, 2020. 7:30 PM at the HS football field. Family and friends are asked to bring lawn chairs and sit on the field spaced out following social distancing set forth by the CDC. Graduates will be in the stadium.

The COVID-19 virus has caused many obstacles to the traditions that mark the end of the school year; however, our teachers and students have risen to the challenge. Since the Senior Class of 2020 is most impacted by these obstacles, the seniors were given the opportunity to vote on their preference for graduation ceremonies. The majority (70.3%) chose the option of celebrating graduation on June 4th, 2020 at our football field. This is contingent on State and CDC guidelines allowing us to hold the ceremony. Having graduation at our stadium allows us more flexibility if the date needs to be adjusted. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony would be moved to the basketball gym. Mr. Buxton will present the poll results to the Meeker Board of Education and will describe the plan that was selected.

⏰ Times to pick up student items: (items will include personal things such as pencil boxes, workbooks, extra supplies, report cards, awards, personality pictures, etc.)
📌Pre-K & Kindergarten: Wednesday, May 13
9:00 am - 11:00 am
📌1st & 2nd grades: Wednesday, May 13
1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
📌3rd, 4th, & 5th grades: Thursday, May 14
9:00 am - 11:00 am
* We hope that these times will work for most of you, as some of the teachers will be at the school during their grade level times so they can say hi and bye to their students.👋🏼👋🏼👋🏼
If you have students in more than one grade, we will be happy to accommodate your time and give you all of your kids’ supplies at the same time.
🚘 Please stay in your vehicles during these times. You will drive up in front of the school, along Culver Street, and someone will bring the items to your vehicle. No one will be allowed inside the school building.
💵 During this time, 5th graders will be refunded their money for their field trip, as well as Wise Guys/Girl Power.
🖍 Pre-K students and 2nd grade students: Those of you that had already paid for field trips will have the following two options:
1️⃣ Option #1: Leave the money deposited in our school account and it will roll over to next year for another activity for that student. We have a very detailed list of who has paid and how much each student has paid. This would be our preferred option. However, if you need to have that refund at this time then,
2️⃣ Option #2: Receive a cash refund during pick up times. ☑️Please let us know, or let your child’s teacher know, by this Friday (5/8/20) if you need the refund.

🖊 All money MUST be signed for, showing that you received what you were owed.
📚 All library books and school textbooks must be turned in before personal items will be released to you and your students. You may drop these off on Monday, from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm, or at your student’s grade level time on Wednesday or Thursday.

I know this was a lot of information, and there is a good chance I have forgotten something. 🤪 We appreciate you, your students, and all of your hard work this year, especially over the last several weeks. This year did not end how any of us planned, but the parents, students, and staff have worked diligently to show understanding, dedication, and grit. 💪🏼 We are blessed with the very best at Meeker Elementary - staff, kiddos, families!
